Data Collection Framework

A-PODD Methodological Framework

A-podd methodology

Adapted from Chataika (2007, p. 110), Social Ecosystems Framework

The above illustration indicates that the data collection methods in this study are interlinked and they complement each other. Key informants interviews will elicit knowledge and understanding on PRSPs processes in the four countries. Key informants will be drawn from all stakeholders involved in PRSP processes. Through key informants, snow bowling method and purposive sampling will be used to identify a sample for focus group discussions. It is from these discussions that more respondents will be identified to participate in follow-up critical incidents analysis (CIA) interviews. After the CIA, a small will be identified to participate in the Nominal Group Technique (NGT). The main issues arising from the NGT will be interrogated through Force Field Analysis. This methodological framework is intended to establish knowledge, attitudes, barriers, behaviours and intervention strategies in the PRSP processes.
